It’s almost spring and we are all ready to put the winter months behind us and enjoy the fresh outlook that comes with the longer days and sunny mornings.
‘Out with the old — in with the new‘. This is the time to get organised for the new financial year, evaluate what is working for your business.. and what can be left out with the winter overstock.
Start thinking about your upcoming promotions — direct mail campaigns, projects, offers and sales. Consider your business goals for March, April and May and work out a plan to ensure you hit all of the seasonal milestones and get the most out of your marketing budget. What could be actioned within your business for the new marketing season?
Good news for retailers! People are once again venturing out of the house and browsing the high street. If you are heading into ‘Spring Sale‘ season, consider updating your retail displays — store windows, graphics, posters, point of sale material — let your customers know that your business moves with the seasons.

Now, let’s talk uniform. Whether you are into fashion or not… uniform should be fit for the season. Our clients stock up on woolly hats, jumpers and softshell jackets throughout the Winter but in the warmer months, we see a rise in sales of branded Hi-Vis vests, ‘cool’ tops, t-shirts and baseball caps.
Spring is full of events, exhibitions and networking opportunities. Make sure your team are equipped with business cards, postcards, pens and giveaways — as well as the tools needed to exhibit successfully (display stands, PVC banners, bunting, badges, table cloths etc).
Some questions to ask and action:
Does your website still feature Christmas information and offers?
Are your Social Media covers/profile photos reflective of the season?
Did you ‘pin’ any winter posts to your Social Media profiles that can be replaced?
Are you holding on to any Christmas promotional stock e.g. December 2018 newsletters that could be recycled?
Do you have festive cards/decorations out in the workplace that can be put away for next year?
Did you purchase any ‘Christmas’ specific data that is no longer needed?
Have you had any new team members that need to be added to your ‘meet the team‘ page on your website?
Are your featured reviews up-to-date? Make use of any new testimonials received over the last 3 months.
Have you tested and checked all of your contact buttons, forms, telephone numbers and email addresses in the last 3 months?
Have you created a ‘Google My Business’ account? [this is a free tool we should all be taking advantage of]
Have you prepared campaigns for St. Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter?
